Back in mid-2016, we heard that Luc Besson was working on an epic sci-fi film and we just had to get involved in any way we could. So, we digitally “hand-painted” a bunch of posters, purely as fans. We printed the posters on archival watercolor paper and had them hand-delivered to his office accompanied by a hand-written note. The gesture really made an impact and he requested that all the posters be framed and hung in his booth at New York ComiCon. Luc also used the art as his holiday card when sending the “100 Days of Valerian” hard bound book that we designed out to the press.
So, when Regal Cinemas said they wanted to do a collectible ticket, it seemed like a no-brainer to use this as the art.
